Coal is a common early-game resource found in the world which is used for advanced smelting or power generation. It can power Coal Generators and vehicles. It burns for four seconds in a Coal Generator.

Obtaining
Resource acquisition
Coal can be harvested by hand (default E) in trace amounts from resource deposits scattered across the world, or from inexhaustible resource nodes on which Miners can be constructed to extract automatically. Additonally, Lizard Doggos will ocassionally bring it when tamed.

*Note: The extraction rate of a Miner Mk.3 at 250 % is 1,200/min, but a Mk.5 Conveyor can only carry 780/min, therefore the maximum mined amount cannot be transported.

Tips
- Some Coal nodes are blocked by boulders which can be detonated using a Nobelisk Detonator.
- Most Coal nodes are near the water, except some at the Grass Fields and Dune Desert. It is advised to avoid these nodes when setting up Coal power.
Current issue
While Satisfactory Interactive Map shows there are 15 pure nodes, one of the pure node in Dune Desert is overlapping with another, effectively reduce the Resource Node count by 1. Thus, 780/min of Coal resources is lost.
