• Weighted Point is the weighted consumption rate which is calculated by: (resource consumption rate / maximum extraction rate) * 10,000. The lower the better.
• Energy per item can be used to measure how much power is consumed for the entire production chain. The lower the better.
• Space refers to building space, excluding belts and pipes. The lower the better.
• Among multiple ways to produce each of the ingredient, the recipe with the lowest WP is chosen. See also:

• If you need to increase your Cable production and have some Crude Oil available, Coated Cable can be used to build quite a compact production line. A single Coated Cable Refinery can do the work of about 3.6 Cable Constructors. Be sure that you know how to deal with Refineries and oil byproducts if you want to use this recipe.

• If you have Crude Oil available, but no Heavy Oil Residue to spare because its needed elsewhere, then Insulated Cable can be used to build a decently compact and energy-efficient production line. A single Insulated Cable Assembler produces as much almost 4.5 Cable Constructors. Be sure you can afford to use Rubber here. (Residual Rubber might be a good choice).
  - "Not to be confused with Insolent Cable, that stuff is naughty."

• No Wire available? No problem, Quickwire Cable can be used to produce Cable instead. It still needs to be supplied with Rubber from your oil production, though not as much as the other recipes.

Research

 Cable is used for research in the Caterium Research chain, Sulfur Research chain, Power Slugs Research chain and Mycelia Research chain in the MAM.
