Achievements

Achievements (Trophies on the PS5) are awarded by performing certain actions or via game progression. They are available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Awarding

Achievements (Trophies) are awarded by triggering certain actions, or by Milestone, MAM, or Space Elevator Project Assembly Phase progression. All achievements can be unlocked within a single save file.

You can not retroactively be awarded an achievement by loading an older game save, even if the requirements for a specific achievement were completed before.

• Achievements related to some action can be awarded by doing the action again.
• Achievements related to progression can only be awarded if that progression had not already been completed, or by starting a new game save.

The use of Advanced Game Settings disables ability for all achievements to be awarded.

The use of mods or save editors will not disable the ability for achievements to be awarded.

Offline play

Any achievements earned while playing offline will NOT be awarded after you go online. Achievements unlocked by triggering a certain action can be triggered again, but achievements related to progression are lost unless the last online save is loaded. This applies to both Steam and Epic Games.

Rock and stone!	Place down a Portable Miner.	A reference to Deep Rock Galactic's catchphrase, a game published by Coffee Stain.
New fear unlocked	Fix blown fuse.	Cause a power trip by causing power consumption to exceed production without any Power Storage charge left, then interact with any Power Pole or Generator and reset the fuse.
A Concrete Example	Build 5000 Foundations.
Commencing Project Assembly	Build the Space Elevator.
Spaghetti master	Build 5 km of Conveyor Belts.
Railroad tycoon	Build 5 km of Railway.	Probable reference to the Railroad Tycoon video game series.
Pipe dream	Build 5 km of Pipelines.	A "pipe dream" is an idea or plan that cannot be realized. The icon is a reference to the Windows 3.1 game, Pipe Dream.
Bigger. Better. FICSIT.	Build your first Manufacturer.
Heal this, nature!	Destroy 1000 foliage.
All aboard!	Set up a train schedule.	Construct a Train Station and an Electric Locomotive on the same Railway network, then interact with the station or enter the locomotive, edit and save a timetable.
Gathering
Varied diet	Gather all three types of edible flora.	Collect a  Beryl Nut,  Paleberry and  Bacon Agaric.
Yoink!	Gather a Power Slug.	Collect either a  Blue Power Slug,  Yellow Power Slug or  Purple Power Slug.
Caught them all	Gather all three Power Slug types.	Collect a  Blue Power Slug,  Yellow Power Slug and  Purple Power Slug. A reference to the slogan of the Pokémon franchise, "Gotta catch 'em all".
I'm sure these play a Critical Role	Gather a Mercer Sphere.	A direct reference to Critical Role, tying the name of  Mercer Spheres to Matthew Mercer.
Consume	Gather 150 Mercer Spheres.
Oddly familiar	Gather a Somersloop.	Somersloops resemble a Cool S.
My skin feels itchy all of a sudden...	Gather 50 Somersloops.	Possibly a reference to static charge coming from Alien Power Augmenters, which use Somersloops to function.
Thank you for the music	Find and gather a Boombox tape in the world.	Requires collecting one of the Boombox Tapes found in the world, not purchasing one from the AWESOME Shop. Probable reference to the swedish pop group ABBA.
Data driven	Gather 100 Hard Drives from Crash Sites.
Progression
Do you want a medal?	Complete the Onboarding process.	"Do you want a medal" is a sarcastic retort to someone who has done something unsurprising or unimpressive.
Master Chef	Unlock your first alternate recipe.	Scan a  Hard Drive in the MAM and choose an alternate recipe from the provided rewards. A direct reference to the TV show of the same name.
Curiosity killed the cat...	Complete a MAM research tree.	A direct reference to the proverb "curiosity killed the cat".
...Satisfactory brought it back	Complete all MAM research trees.	Another reference to the previous proverb, referencing its direct response "…but satisfaction brought it back".
Now where to spend it...	Print out your first Coupon.	Sink resources into an AWESOME Sink, then print a  Coupon from its UI.
Do you need that?	Buy the Golden Nut Statue from the AWESOME Shop.
Efficiency first	Unlock all Milestones.
Mediocre pioneering	Complete Phase 1 of the Space Elevator.
Adequate pioneering	Complete Phase 2 of the Space Elevator.
Pretty good pioneering	Complete Phase 3 of the Space Elevator.
Efficient pioneering	Complete Phase 4 of the Space Elevator.
Saved the Day, probably	Complete Phase 5 of the Space Elevator and finish the game.
Exploration
Let's see what's out there	Visit each starting area biome once.	Visit the Grass Fields, Rocky Desert, Northern Forest and Dune Desert.
Wheeeee!	Bounce on a Space Giraffe Tick Penguin Thing.	Land on the top of a Space Giraffe-Tick-Penguin-Whale Thing.
Pioneer's best friend	Tame a Lizard Doggo.	Tame a Lizard Doggo by feeding it a  Paleberry, then petting it. See Lizard Doggo § Taming.
Establish dominance	Hit a creature with a vehicle.
Look both ways next time	Get knocked over by a vehicle.	In singleplayer, automate a vehicle route by recording one and fueling the vehicle, then stand in front of the vehicle. Alternatively, in multiplayer, have another pioneer knock you over.
Too fast, Too factory	Move faster than 140 km/h.	Drive a train on a long enough downhill slope, stand on top of the HUB Freighter when it launches, fall for a significant distance, or eject yourself from a Hypertube cannon. A reference to the 2003 movie 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Peak gameplay	Reach the highest cliff in the world.	Reach the Rocky Desert impure Uranium Resource Node.
What a thrill	Reach the maximum world height.	Stand on top of the space elevator while turning in a phase, stand on top of the HUB Freighter when it launches, build and climb a Ladder, or use a Hypertube cannon to launch yourself to reach the skybox, roughly 2 km above sea level. A reference to The Fluids Update date reveal teaser, which itself was a reference to Metal Gear Solid 3's ladder climb.
The floor is lava	Avoid touching the ground for 30 minutes.	Hover with a  Hoverpack for 30 minutes without landing or stand on factory buildings without touching the ground or foundation.

That was a close one	Survive a fall on 1 health point.	Survive fall damage with 1 HP left.
Are you sure that's coffee?	Drink Coffee.	Purchase a  Cup in the AWESOME Shop, then equip and use it.
No refunds	Drive the Cyber Wagon.	Sink a  Coupon into the AWESOME Sink, then purchase the Cyber Wagon in the AWESOME Shop, build it and enter it.

Trivia

• On August 29, 2024, the Steam client was updated to list the achievements expected to release with version 1.0.
  • This change did not happen on the Epic Games Store.
  • Due to in-game triggers not being implemented, achievements couldn't be awarded to players before Patch 1.0
• During the Closed Alpha phase, Coffee Stain Studios had stated that achievements will most likely be added after the Alpha period to prevent exploitation due to bugs or imbalances. Later, in 2020, they stated that achievements won't come any time soon until the game is finalized in design and balance.
