There are a lot of tall mountains in the game, however the tallest terrain is located at the North of Rocky Desert. It is a rock pillar, standing 488 meters high above sea level, or Z:470.

What is Z:470? How to know the current Z? Debug console shows values more than 4000.

use the satisfactory interactive map. Take note all distance units are in centimetersKwjcool321 (talk) 11:54, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
I found multiple satisfactory maps. None of them shows Z under the cursor. What exactly map I should use to get this info? Actually, if I found coordinates (that I could compare with console coordinates) of the highest point it will enough, I will start basements from that height. You have to actually build something at the terrain to check the z-height (say, foundations), then upload your save file to the interactive map, and right-click -> update position to check its z-height.
Even without right-clicking, I can see the altitude in meters (https://monosnap.com/file/q8ycRI4S7Q79qCnvbojZpHlDKoxqKI) I believe the same meters is Z. So I reach "Z:470" when an interactive map shows altitude 470. Regardless height of terrain where I placed the basement. Right? How do you think is it possible to cover the entire map with foundations on Z above 470 without facing any obstacle?) Lewik87 (talk) 18:23, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Now I get it. Console shows the same Z but in centimeters. As you say. Thanks. Lewik87 (talk) 05:26, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Weather

"There is no changing weather in the world". Fog is weather, and the fog does change.

Thanks for highlight! I will add it as a note.Kwjcool321 (talk) 14:37, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Old sections of this page?

The World Size section of this page seems to be outdated or incorrect, as it mentions multiple facts about sizes of buildings that are completely incorrect: namely that the AWESOME sink is the tallest factory building in the game, and that nothing can be placed above the Hub, both facts that (I believe) are quite incorrect now. The AWESOME sink is certainly not the biggest factory building in the game, as both the Refinery (31 m) and the Particle Accelerator (32 m) are a good deal taller. Also, I am quite certain that the Hub no longer has any skybox-height restriction box, as mine on my save is currently located under a ledge of terrain that is also below my entire in-progress factory, with no placement problems at all. Although this section may have been correct several updates ago, it is now completely incorrect, and needs to be fixed

"The border along the East side can cause instant death"

In my Experince with U7 this is not true. On the east border i got the normal damage as usual Freimatz (talk) 11:07, 18 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

1. This will require testing to confirm. It should be noted that depending on where you are standing along the eastern border, as shown in this World Border (see Illustration) might determine if or if not you die.

-Swam along the whole edge of the map to test, no instant death just damage. The edge of the visible map causes the damage. The border in the illustration beyond may be the normal instant death border surrounding the map

Dark mode & biome difficulty rating

Would it be possible to edit the color-coded difficulty ratings for each biome in a way that makes them more visible in dark mode without impacting how they look in light mode? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr. Vistora (talkcontribs) at 19:29, 12 September 2023. Thanks for bringing this up, I've corrected it now. --Ondar111 (talk) 20:41, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Fabulous, thank you! --Dr. Vistora (talk) 21:03, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Accuracy of biome hostility

What is the source or reasoning for the hostility rating for the various biomes? It doesn't feel consistent with what the game actually throws at the player. For example, both the Grass Fields and Spire Coast are classified as "low" hostility, but at the same time the creature spawn map for the Spire Coast shows quite a density of alpha spitter spawning points. I'd almost say the spawn point map for the Spire Coast looks very similar to that of the Blue Crater, even though that one is classified as "high" hostility. Biome pages

Would it be a good idea to make pages for the different biomes? It could contain more detailed information than what is provided on this page such as resources and more screenshots. Kumquatbagel (talk) 18:39, 28 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

I don't really think there's much to say about each biome. Maintaining maps would cause additional strain on us while external map tools already provide this information and are well maintained. As for screenshots, are they really needed? If so, a gallery subpage could be created. Ondar111 (talk) 23:00, 28 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. I just like documenting stuff for the sake of it but if you don't think it's necessary I'll defer to your judgment Kumquatbagel (talk) 16:36, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
