Starting Location

Is the starting location correct? I have the Steam (Early Access CL#124233) version of the game. The Rockey Desert option is the second one, not the fourth one as indicated. When I go to the closest iron patch, I don't see anything like the images attached to the article.

Thanks for pointing it out. I have updated its position to 2nd. You have to find the highest rock pillar in the area, just move your mouse around and you will find that rock spire. Kwjcool321 (talk) 01:54, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

Can you indicate the rough compass direction from the first node to give us a general idea? As I said, nothing looks like your pictures to me (The four compass directions are in the pics). I assume I went to the right node initially.

You are near the West sea, so I guess walking North-East about 800 meters you should reach the tutorial location. I am also in the Satisfactory Discord so you can ping me there next time @kwjcool321. Kwjcool321 (talk) 06:05, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Okay! I'm not crazy. It seems there are two (that I found) starting locations. I went back and restarted the game again after receiving your message to verify that I didn't screw up the start somehow. After landing, the scan showed me a deposit at 308m SSW which seemed much closer and it a very different direction than I remembered. I reloaded the save from my first attempt at following your guild and it showed the location at 420m. Thinking that I moved from the drop pod location, I re-started a new game again. Being careful NOT to move from where the game put me, the scan showed the closest deposit at 393m E of my location. Again, to verify that my 308m result wasn't a mistake, I restarted a 3rd time and, this time, I again got 308m SSW. I also realized that the scenery from the window of the pod was different.

I then tried to see if there were any other starting locations. After restarting the game 10 times, I got the first location (308m SSW to deposit) 7 times and the second (393m E to deposit) 3 times. Incidentally, I don't think the locations are too far apart. From the second starting location, I think your location is the second closest one at 524m W. Looking west from about 125m, you can actually see 4 nodes, 1 to the SW (left) and 3 to the NW (right).
