As vehicle fuel.

When the rods are loaded into the fuel tank of the car, does the car emit radiation as if it was a container holding them? This might be important to mention. --Ruediix (talk) 17:04, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

It would perhaps be more useful to explain how is any fuel burned in general. All vehicles and generators have 1 (visible) buffer slot for fuel plus one internal 1-item slot, which
  1. contains the currently burned piece of fuel
  2. can store a fraction of the burned fuel (not just the whole item)
  3. is invisible to the player.
The internal slot can be proven very easily by building a new vehicle and fueling it, 1 item will be subtracted immediately when the vehicle accelerates. Proceeding to remove all fuel and accelerating the vehicle will still allow it to run for a while (based on what fuel is used), as it is burning the fuel stored in the internal slot.
With all this information, the answer to your question is simple: They do emit radiation while in the (visible) 1 buffer slot, but don't while in the (invisible) internal slot. Engineers are immune to radiation while in a vehicle. --Ondar111 (talk) 21:41, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
