Satisfactory Wiki:Localization project rules

Localization projects on Satisfactory Wiki should follow these guidelines. See Help:Translation Guidelines for details about starting and maintaining a localization project.

  1. Localized pages, as well as image redirects, must be categorized into their respective translation category. This applies to interwiki file redirects too.
  2. Ensure terminology and translations are consistent both across the wiki localization project and in-game translations. If there is no in-game translation, only maintain consistency across the wiki.
  3. Rather than localizing multiple pages partially, prioritize localizing fewer pages whole.
  4. Do not categorize localized pages into EN categories. You may create a localized category and make it a subcategory of the original category (e.g. Category:Items → Category:Items/fr which is a subcategory of Category:Items)
  5. Edits changing only interlanguage links should be marked as minor.
  6. Before starting or reviving an inactive localization project, ensure you have sufficient knowledge of maintaining a wiki project (such as how to translate and work with templates), the language in question, and the game for contextual differences for the fictional environment and technologies. Reviving a project by updating 5 pages out of 50 helps, but there are still 45 outdated pages that may confuse or mislead readers due to being outdated or poorly translated.
  7. A localization project is considered inactive if it has little to no edit activity on any of its pages and is at least 2 major updates behind. Such projects may be deleted as a whole, as it can be assumed that it is easier to start from scratch than try to get together a project whose original maintainer(s) have abandoned it.
