Damage and Stack Size changes to Snowballs

Stack size is decreased from 500 to 100 (already corrected).

There also seems to be a change to the damage they do when thrown at a creature, but not detonated. Other types of nobelisk do only 1 point of damage, but just 2 non-detonated snowballs thrown at a crab hatcher (the nearest target to my Ficsmas factory) killed it. I don't yet know the exact number, or see a good place to put it (Ficsmas doesn't talk about damage, the nobelisk detonator page doesn't talk about FICSMAS).

I'm also wondering if there might be one more change - is the explosion damage/radius still the same as standard nobelisks or not? (It'd need more testing than I have time for right now to be sure). BrucePodger (talk) 02:21, 14 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

We tested snowballs damage with a friend and it's definitely different from other nobelisks. Impact damage is exactly 10 and detonation damage seems to be 20 (uncertain due to damage falloff, requires further testing). Collected data: Sticking a snowball removes 1 pip of health; Sticking 10 snowballs kills a pioneer; Sticking one snowball and detonating it deals ~30 damage; Detonating (from full health) 5 stuck snowballs leaves you with a bit less than 30 HP (3 pips). Didn't test the radius yet.

So more impact damage, but less explosion damage? That's perhaps worth noting somewhere. It also makes sense for making multi-player snowball fights more about throw accuracy than explosions. BrucePodger (talk) 18:42, 21 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think we should have individual pages for each FICSMAS item where such details can be specified. --SerGreen (talk) 22:43, 19 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Maybe a "snowballs" section under the loot tables for the calendar, like we have already have for data cartridges and boombox tapes (both new additions this year with details that don't fit elsewhere. BrucePodger (talk) 18:42, 21 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
