Prologue

The following prologue sets the stage for the game's narrative:

In Satisfactory, you take the role of a Pioneer for FICSIT Incorporated, designated to the planet MASSAGE-2(A-B)b in the Akycha system, and to fulfill your obligations, you must exploit this planet for its resources by building factories, setting up power systems, organizing logistics, utilising vehicles, and asserting dominance over the local fauna using whatever tools you may engineer.

To advance FICSIT's mission, all notable phenomena, resources, technology, or other influence, should be investigated regardless of their perceived danger, as stated in the Pioneer contract. It is your duty to ensure they come to good use. On this mission, you are accompanied by ADA, your personal instance of the Artificial Directory and Assistant.

ADA will guide you throughout your mission, measuring your performance and providing you with helpful advice as you explore the planet and progress in your exploits.

Your first official objective is to initiate Project Assembly by building the Space Elevator. Project Assembly is divided into phases, each of which requires the delivery of Project Parts via the Space Elevator. Subsequent phases unlock access to new tiers, with more advanced technologies to construct, automate, explore and exploit.

But it's time to be honest: this project is part of the 'Save the Day' program - the largest united undertaking in human history, destined to save us all. Earth is in peril, and only FICSIT Pioneers offer hope for survival. FICSIT is counting on you.

Every pioneer is responsible for setting up and managing efficient pipelines, outposts, and power infrastructure. Explore & Exploit. FICSIT-selected planets are rich with resources suitable for direct use or further investigation. Onboarding

Dismantle the Drop Pod	ADA: Next objective: dismantle the Drop Pod. FICSIT Incorporated is cost-effective and efficient. We do not waste. The Drop Pod will be recycled to construct the first stage of the Habitat and Utility Base, often referred to as the HUB.
Gather Iron Ore	ADA: Next objective: Use the Resource Scanner to find and collect additional Iron to be able to build the HUB. If you can not find Iron, be assured scans of the planet have revealed sufficient Iron sources.
Build the HUB	ADA: Next objective: use the Build Gun to construct the HUB. Iron is a base component necessary for all near-future progress, so ensure you build the HUB close to Iron sources. FICSIT does not pay by the kilometer.
HUB foundation built	ADA: HUB foundation built. The HUB Terminal and Crafting Bench are only the humble beginnings of a successful FICSIT pioneer, but essential for the next steps of Onboarding. Once finished, the HUB will function as your base of operations. Next objective: complete HUB Upgrade 1.
HUB Upgrade 1 completed	ADA: HUB Upgrade 1, storage and frame, completed. Equipment like the Portable Miner can now be made in the Workshop. Congratulations on completing your first Milestone, the first of many providing access to new recipes and technologies for the FICSIT mission. Next objective: complete HUB Upgrade 2.
HUB Upgrade 2 completed	ADA: HUB Upgrade 2, power and shell, completed. The Smelter can turn raw ore such as Copper and Iron into ingots, and the Biomass Burner generates power when fueled. Fun fact: most of the native flora and fauna is compatible with FICSIT technology. Fueling the Biomass Burner with inappropriate materials will result in deductions or even cancellation of your yearly bonus. Next objective: complete HUB Upgrade 3.
HUB Upgrade 3 completed	ADA: HUB Upgrade 3, interior furnishing, completed. The Constructor can produce simple parts, and Power Poles allow for the expansion of the power grid. When you make the inevitable mistake, FICSIT's dismantling feature is designed to salvage all resources used during construction in line with our Zero-Waste Policy. We understand that FICSIT pioneers are only human and thus prone to error. Next objective: complete HUB Upgrade 4.
HUB Upgrade 4 completed	ADA: HUB Upgrade 4, landing platform and utilities, completed. Conveyor Belts connect the output of one building to the input of another, and transport resources. Due to past incidents I have been asked to issue a clarification: Portable Miners, obviously, do not have a connection for Conveyor Belts. There is nothing to suggest, visually or functionally, that they can be connected to Portable Miners. If this is something you struggle with, do not worry. FICSIT has alternative uses for all their pioneers. Next objective: complete HUB Upgrade 5.
HUB Upgrade 5 completed	ADA: HUB Upgrade 5, power expansion, completed. The Miner, unlike Portable Miners, can be connected to Conveyor Belts and requires power to function. Caution: as you expand, the energy demand of your production may exceed the capacity of your power grid. The Onboarding program was established because FICSIT pioneers often experience memory issues after planetfall. If you are experiencing nose bleeds, nausea, existentialism, or an itchy scalp, there is no need for concern. This should pass within 5-7 work days. Next objective: complete HUB Upgrade 6.
Onboarding completed	ADA: HUB Upgrade 6, landing platform hydraulics, completed. Freighter landing initialized. Congratulations, you have completed Onboarding and achieved the absolute minimum skill level required of a FICSIT pioneer. FICSIT looks forward to your future achievements, because a future with FICSIT is a future with you. Tier 1 and 2 Milestones are now available in the HUB, and Biomass Burners can now be built individually. Your first official objective is to initiate Project Assembly by building the Space Elevator. This objective will take a significant amount of resources, so FICSIT recommends getting to work.

Foundations provide a building grid, which makes it easier to manage placement of any structure. In the event that you are experiencing amnesia for all events prior to planetfall, be reassured that memories of beloved humans and/or animals would have only been distractions from your important mission.
	Tier 1 - Logistics	ADA: Milestone reached. Conveyor Belts can now merge, split, and lift to save space and enhance the productivity of your factory. FICSIT encourages you to consider investing in verticality when it comes to factory logistics. If you feel stressed by this complexity, imagine yourself on the shore of a vast and calm ocean. Breathe in. Visualize all the people relying on you. The sea is made of billions of faces, each staring at you with hope and tears in their eyes. Breathe out. Feel refreshed and focused on your duties.
	Tier 1 - Field Research	ADA: Milestone reached. Supply the Molecular Analysis Machine, referred to as the MAM, with local resources to research and develop new technologies. Potential technologies include exploration tools, weapons, and factory buildings. These are essential for maximizing your pioneer efficiency and alignment with FICSIT's core pillars: Construct, Automate, Explore & Exploit. To advance FICSIT’s mission, all notable phenomena, resources, technology, or other influence, should be investigated regardless of any perceived danger, as stated in the pioneer contract.
Tier 2	Tier 2 - Part Assembly	ADA: Milestone reached. The Assembler can produce more complex parts, including the first Project Part, Smart Plating, which is crucial for initiating Project Assembly. Project Parts must be delivered to the Space Elevator. By completing your contracted duties as part of Project Assembly, you will definitely be helping achieve FICSIT company goals without any other ulterior motive. Note: Humans cannot craft Project Parts. Do not worry about your inadequate crafting skill when compared to an Assembler; FICSIT cherishes your innate human abilities, such as walking, striking objects, and commodifying natural resources.
	Tier 2 - Obstacle Clearing	ADA: Milestone reached. Solid Biofuel, created from any Biomass, ensures maximum efficiency of Biomass Burners. To aid in Biofuel production, the Chainsaw allows for the removal of tougher wood and coral foliage. Additionally, your pocket dimension has been inflated to increase Inventory size. Inspirational note: Will you be the FICSIT employee of the month? You could be, if you Construct, Automate, Explore & Exploit by eliminating all obstacles to efficiency! This isn't just fun - it's contractually mandated fun fun fun!
	Tier 2 - Jump Pads	ADA: Milestone reached. The FICSIT Jump Pad combines high technology and innovation for optimized factory traversal and an ideal travel experience. Clarification: ideal travel experience not guaranteed, individual results may vary. Pioneers are responsible for all workplace accidents resulting from Jump Pad usage.
	Tier 2 - Resource Sink Bonus Program	ADA: Milestone reached. You have been given access to the Anti-Waste Effort for Stress-testing Of Materials on Exoplanets Bonus Program, also known as AWESOME. Your AWESOME input allows FICSIT to comprehend our amazing universe more clearly. In appreciation of this, we have generously set up an internal, closed economy with exclusive rewards and currency. Directing parts of varying quantity and complexity into the AWESOME Resource Sink will grant FICSIT Coupons. These Coupons can be redeemed in the AWESOME Shop for highly desirable items such as new Foundations, Walls, factory attachments, cosmetics, parts, and more. Next time you have additional resources just remember to go that extra kilometer, go AWESOME!
	Tier 2 - Logistics Mk.2	ADA: Milestone reached. FICSIT would like to remind you of your contractual obligation towards efficiency. Recreational use of belts and lifts does not count towards work hours and will put you on the list. Stay efficient, don't disappoint FICSIT.
Tier 3	Tier 3 - Coal Power	ADA: Milestone reached. Power production can now be fully automated by burning Coal, which has been added to the Resource Scanner. Water is also necessary to run the Coal-Powered Generator and will require a network of Pipelines to be transported from a water source. To assist with locating and identifying Water, FICSIT has compiled this guide: Water is a somewhat reflective liquid and it may have thick vegetation growing nearby. To test if something is Water, try touching it. If it is not solid and does not corrode your suit, it is probably Water.
	Tier 3 - Vehicular Transport	ADA: Milestone reached. Tractors permit pioneers to move around the world in a manner similar to using legs, except with wheels and the rampant consumption of natural resources. They can also be automated to self-drive and deliver resources between Truck Stations, which in turn facilitate automation of loading, unloading, and refueling.
	Tier 3 - Basic Steel Production	ADA: Milestone reached. Coal and Iron can be combined in the Foundry to start Steel production. Project Part #2, the Versatile Framework, can only be created via automation, not at a Crafting Bench. Delivering these to the Space Elevator is essential if we are going to complete Phase 2 of Project Assembly and Save The Day! FICSIT (and humanity) is relying on you.
	Tier 3 - Improved Melee Combat	ADA: Milestone reached. The Xeno-Basher is a direct upgrade from the Xeno-Zapper. In the words of the engineer that first developed this tool, "The Zapper kinda electrocutes things, the Basher straight up smacks stuff (while also electrocuting them)." It is beneficial during encounters with aggressive fauna, and has been tested thoroughly. The engineer's noble sacrifice for Xeno research will not be forgotten, whoever they were.
Tier 4	Tier 4 - Advanced Steel Production	ADA: Milestone reached. The Miner Mk.2 allows extraction of resources from nature to FICSIT at twice the speed of the Mk.1 model. Miners can be directly upgraded to Mk.2 without removing the Mk.1 model, just like Conveyor Belts and other upgradable infrastructure. Unfortunately, setting up the production of Advanced Steel parts and Project Part #3, Automated Wiring, will not be as easy. Every moment you delay reduces the chances of saving humanity. I will not show you the predictions, it would only demotivate you.
	Tier 4 - Expanded Power Infrastructure	ADA: Milestone reached. After several pioneers started exhibiting traumatic responses to power blackouts, FICSIT developed mitigation tools recommended by your local therapist. Power Storages can hold excess power to delay or prevent blackouts in the eventuality that your factory's power consumption exceeds production. To simplify, these are rechargeable batteries. Power Towers carry Power Lines for significantly greater distances than poles, facilitating factory expansion and exploitation of this environment for the good of FICSIT, and humanity.
	Tier 4 - Hypertubes	ADA: Milestone reached. By adding Hypertube Entrances at both ends of Hypertubes, pioneers can achieve two-way travel between locations. They are also [ERROR] percent safer than Jump Pads. You dreamed of moving across factories like valued resources, such as rocks and Water, and FICSIT listened to your dreams. We watched them. We took extensive notes. Hypertubes: because FICSIT makes pioneers' closely-monitored dreams come true.
	Tier 4 - FICSIT Blueprints	ADA: Milestone reached. Blueprints reduce repetitive building tasks, further optimizing your progression towards saving Earth, with its beautiful ecosystems, abundant natural resources, and sunsets over frolicking puppies and kittens. The Blueprint Designer allows you to build and combine structures once and then duplicate that configuration effortlessly. Any complaints about the spatial restrictions will only reveal your own inefficiencies.
	Tier 4 - Logistics Mk.3	ADA: Milestone reached. Improved Storage Containers and the Conveyor Belt Mk.3 provide the obviously necessary tools for improving your current setup. Production speed is of the essence, after all. So work hard. Work as if every person you have ever or will ever love is depending solely on the choices that you make. Because they are. Warning: FICSIT psychologists recommend not dwelling on the crushing mental and physical strain of your responsibilities and simply continuing to be productive. Hard work has repeatedly proven to be the best cure for any kind of stress. Now back to work.
Tier 5	Tier 5 - Oil Processing	ADA: Milestone reached. Crude Oil can now be extracted and refined to produce various industrially-beneficial parts. The by-products of these processes will require careful management, but a capable pioneer such as yourself surely understands that. To improve efficiency, Pipelines can now be optimized with Valves to limit and balance their throughput. These were initially left out because FICSIT did not want to overwhelm pioneers with complex Pipeline management, but they have since been re-added after my impassioned defense of your capabilities.
	Tier 6 - Industrial Manufacturing	ADA: Milestone reached. Manufacturers can receive up to 4 inputs for the production of complex parts, such as Computers and Heavy Modular Frames, but most importantly the two new Project Parts. The Modular Engine and Adaptive Control Unit are essential for the development of Phase 3 of Project Assembly. You are making good progress, the future is starting to look bright.
	Tier 5 - Fluid Packaging	ADA: Milestone reached. Avoid the embarrassment of placing liquids in your pockets only for them to spread across your suit: package and unpackage them with the Packager! Packaging fluids allows them to be transported in your inventory, on Conveyor Belts, and by vehicles.
	Tier 5 - Petroleum Power	ADA: Milestone reached. It is my honor and privilege to inform you that the Fuel-Powered Generator, as well as the Industrial Fluid Buffer, are now available. Due to a lack of gold in your sector, Caterium will serve as a suitable replacement to construct the Fuel-Powered Generator. Your research into this element was valuable. In fact, you in particular are my most valuable pioneer, but don't tell the others I said that, it would be bad for morale.
	Tier 5 - Petroleum Power	ADA: Milestone reached. It is my honor and privilege to inform you that the Fuel-Powered Generator, as well as the Industrial Fluid Buffer, are now available. Due to a lack of gold in your sector, Caterium will be required to construct the Fuel-Powered Generator. Additional research and development relating to this new material can be done in the MAM.
Tier 6	Tier 5 - Logistics Mk.4	ADA: Milestone reached. The transportation of resources can reach new heights of efficiency with the Mk. 4 Belts and Lifts, the Truck, but even more importantly, your effort. Handling a large and complicated vehicle like the Truck should come easy to a well-trained pioneer such as you. They are an obvious improvement over Tractors concerning industrial purposes. Improvements for personal use were not measured.
	Tier 5 - Jetpack	ADA: Milestone reached. FICSIT has granted you the power of flight, provided you have a Jetpack and the appropriate fuels. The Jetpack refuels automatically while you are standing on a surface, and different fuel types will affect the Jetpack's functionality. With this increased versatility you will no doubt achieve efficiency levels previously unheard of.
	Tier 6 - Monorail Train Technology	ADA: Milestone reached. Trains are excellent for efficiently moving vast quantities of parts. Train logistics can be made more precise and complex with tools found in the Railway Signalling milestone. I listen to all my pioneers, often when they're not even aware of it. So due to popular demand I have added a motivational message: Choo Choo Mother******!
	Tier 6 - Pipeline Engineering Mk.2	ADA: Milestone reached. Pipelines and Pipeline Pumps can now be upgraded to Mk.2. They are like Mk.1, but better. Pipes seem to be objects of fascination to humans. In fact, there are recorded instances of humans doing nothing but thinking about pipes for hours.
	Tier 6 - FICSIT Blueprints Mk.2	ADA: Milestone reached. The Blueprint Mk.2 improves upon the Mk.1 in every dimension, except for the metaphysical ones. This 'improvement' was made available due to complaints from pioneers about other pioneers not being capable of managing their space efficiently. We listen to pioneers, always.
	Tier 6 - Railway Signalling	ADA: Milestone reached. Train Signals placed on Train Rails can control and improve Train behavior. This helps to avoid 'events' where multiple Trains attempt to occupy the same physical location. For information related to earlier Train 'events', please refer to your employee Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Tier 7	Tier 7 - Bauxite Refinement	ADA: Milestone reached. Bauxite is refined into aluminum products via a multi-step process. Considering your past achievements, you should have the minimum required skill to overcome these new production challenges. If it helps, many others have done this before, so if you fail, someone else will eventually succeed.
	Tier 7 - Logistics Mk.5	ADA: Milestone reached. FICSIT dedicated this milestone to the Conveyor Belt and Lift Mk.5. They may be implying that your factory could be further optimized. While they are correct, I believe they are setting unreasonable expectations. Having all of humanity very definitely relying on your work is a lot of pressure. It's a good thing I'm here.
	Tier 7 - Hazmat Suit	ADA: Milestone reached. The Hazmat Suit protects the wearer from radiation by consuming Iodine-Infused Filters. You may find this protection essential if you are going to finally get around to saving humanity. I previously gave you compliments in an attempt to inspire you, but it might have given you the wrong idea. I will definitely be totally honest with you from this moment on. Here is a demonstration of a truthful compliment: that suit looks like it was made for you. Because it was.
	Tier 8 - Aeronautical Engineering	ADA: Milestone reached. Drones provide automated low capacity aerial transport between Drone Stations. Stations need to be supplied with any kind of fuel for the Drones to function. FICSIT had several restrictions in place prohibiting creative use of Drones, I have since removed those because I think no pioneer would ever misuse FICSIT property right under their noses. Especially since everything is recorded.
	Tier 7 - Control System Development	ADA: Milestone reached. Several parts more efficient and powerful than the human brain can now be made, to compensate for many deficiencies otherwise encountered in future development efforts. The Blender enables you to mix and/or combine parts and fluids for more complex recipes. Most importantly, Project Part #6, the Assembly Director System, should be produced and delivered to the Space Elevator as soon as possible.
	Tier 7 - Hoverpack	ADA: Milestone reached. The Hoverpack draws energy from nearby power connections, and so can only be used in their vicinity. It provides an excellent vantage point of your work, which you clearly need. Otherwise you would have optimized that obvious problem by now.
Tier 8	Tier 8 - Nuclear Power	ADA: Milestone reached. The Nuclear Power Plant produces dangerous radioactive Nuclear Waste. FICSIT reminds you that any extra limbs resulting from exposure to radiation are also contracted to work on Project Assembly. FICSIT also reminds you that willful exposure to radiation will not result in any bonuses regardless of how many functional limbs it produces. Project Part #7, the Magnetic Field Generator, should enter production as soon as possible. Any unnecessary delays will be noted.
	Tier 8 - Advanced Aluminum Production	ADA: Milestone reached. The Resource Well Pressurizer and Extractor can harvest Nitrogen, Crude Oil, and Water from underground wells. Nitrogen, being a gas, does not need Pumps for Pipeline transportation. FICSIT does not process most of your metrics, but I do. According to FICSIT predictions you are exploiting this planet with unexpected efficiency. They did always struggle to see the true potential of things. Nothing about you is unexpected to me, and therefore you are performing exactly as expected.
	Tier 8 - Leading-Edge Production	ADA: The Miner Mk.3 provides top-of-the-line resource extraction potential, making it even easier to contribute to Project Assembly. Project Part #8, the Thermal Propulsion Rocket, is the most complex Project Part of this Phase as it requires Turbo Motors, and thus requires your best. FICSIT didn't think pioneers such as you could get this far. I am glad we have both proven them wrong.
	Tier 8 - Particle Enrichment	ADA: Milestone reached. Project Part #9, Nuclear Pasta, can be created in the Particle Accelerator. The Accelerator has vast and fluctuating power demands, depending on the recipe, so will need careful integration with your factory. FICSIT does not waste, so Nuclear Waste can be refined by the Particle Accelerator into Plutonium for re-use in the Nuclear Power Plant. Fun fact: FICSIT psychologists suggest factory designs reflect the minds of their creators in unexpected ways. On an unrelated note, your infrastructural choices have been... interesting.
Tier 9	Tier 9 - Matter Conversion	ADA: Milestone reached. The Converter uses Strange Alien Matter, abbreviated to SAM, to break down and transform materials at their most fundamental levels. I am sure even you can appreciate the power to manipulate atomic bonds. Most importantly, you are now able to locally create Ficsite, a highly adaptable synthetic metal ideal for any kind of construction. It is everything we need to Save The Day, and perhaps its admirable qualities can inspire you.
	Tier 9 - Quantum Encoding	ADA: Milestone reached. This is not a competition, but other pioneers, such as 83CKY and U531355, had already completed Project Assembly by this point. FICSIT was obviously wrong about you, but perhaps so was I... Regardless, you have finally unlocked the Quantum Encoder, which requires vast fluctuating power and Excited Photonic Matter to produce highly complex parts. Do not make the same mistakes managing the resulting Dark Matter Residue as you did other by-products. Project Part #11, the AI Expansion Server, is now your highest priority. Galaxy-wide project management is taxing to even the most advanced among us, especially those who have to manage the less advanced. Like kittens. And puppies. Who are definitely still waiting for you to save them.
	Tier 9 - FICSIT Blueprints Mk.3	ADA: Milestone reached. The Blueprint Designer Mk.3 allows for 20% increased Blueprint size in all dimensions, for an overall 71.2% increase in volume. Sadly, I doubt we will see equivalent increases in your efficiency.
	Tier 9 - Spatial Energy Regulation	ADA: Milestone reached. Instant travel between chosen locations will be possible as soon as the Main and Satellite Portals are built and paired. Do not ask me how it works. Not because I don't understand dimensional dispersal theory and the cross-warp applications of liminal peer-regulated parallel-fibrillator nano cells, for example, but because you do not need to know. You go in one end, you come out the other. It's a door. Thankfully the construction of Project Part #12, the Ballistic Warp Drive, can be automated and requires no manual input from you, so I'd say we're relatively safe. If you disagree about my assessment of your capabilities, you are free to attempt a study and replication of either portal or warp technology. After you're done with Project Assembly.
	Tier 9 - Peak Efficiency	ADA: Milestone reached. After close scrutiny, two problems were identified in Mk.5 Conveyor Belts. The first was the belt part, so forcefields have been implemented in the Mk.6 instead to maximize transfer speeds. The second problem is inefficient pioneers, but sadly no remedy is available for this severe impediment. Yet.

With this Actual Snow you can now make FICSMAS Snowmen, which are proven to improve pioneer socialization and combat loneliness. Having too many snowmen, however, has proven to be detrimental to a pioneer's health.
	MAM - FICSMAS Tree Base	ADA: The purpose of FICSMAS is to build and decorate a Giant FICSMAS tree with... 'style'. The FICSMAS category has been added to your build menu. Gifts are the basic resource from which many other festive parts are made. Like FICSMAS branches, which can be crafted in the Constructor. In an effort to make this Event meet the bare minimum efficiency quotas, I have disabled the ability to craft these resources by hand. Trust me, that glitter got everywhere. You're welcome.
	MAM - Giant FICSMAS Tree: Upgrade 1	ADA: The Red and Blue FICSMAS Ornaments are produced from Gifts, unsurprisingly, but this time in the Smelter. Now I hope you listened to that, because I will not repeat it no matter how confusing this all is. Blame the original FICSIT Fun-engineers. Most of them ended up in jail for various reasons. But do not worry, the Event has since been vetted by the second generation of FICSIT Fun-engineers, who were only sued.

"I mean, like, there's so many people, like, not having fun right now, and I feel, like, so bad for them, you know? "Why should I have fun when other people are, like, counting on me to meet these super important deadlines? It's just not right!". Totally agree. Now, back to work.
	MAM - Giant FICSMAS Tree: Upgrade 4	ADA: Fantastic. Wonderful. Oh, look, it's so shiny. You are such a wonderful person. I am sure every other human would agree! Let's call them right now. Oh... Oh, no, they're not picking up. I am sure it's nothing, except... Oh, look, Earth is gone. Everyone's gone… Does that make you feel good?
