Rocket Fuel is a late-game fluid with various uses in both Fuel-Powered Generators and Vehicles.

As it is a gas, it lacks head lift requirements.

Calculating Compacted Coal feedback loops for Turbofuel

Feeding the Compacted Coal byproduct of Rocket Fuel back to Refineries making Turbofuel or Turbo Heavy Fuel requires solving a feedback loop.

Turbofuel

If the target Rocket Fuel amount is known first calculate the amount of Turbofuel needed to sustain production. Then calculate the amount of Compacted Coal this would need.

Lastly, multiply this number by a factor of 19/24 (this factor comes from the ratio of byproduct Compacted Coal compared to the demand of the Turbofuel Refinery).

The resulting number is the amount of Compacted Coal that needs to be freshly produced. The remaining amount will be supplied by the Rocket Fuel Refineries.

Example:

Target amount of Rocket Fuel: 100/min. This needs 60/min Turbofuel, which needs 48/min Compacted Coal. 48 * 19 / 24 = 38.

38/min Compacted Coal need to be freshly produced to sustain this loop, the other 10/min come from the Rocket Fuel Refinery

If the target supply rate of freshly made Compacted Coal is known, simply multiply it by 24 / 19. The resulting number is the amount of Compacted Coal that needs to be processed by the Turbofuel Refineries. This will also determine how much Rocket Fuel can be made in the end.

Example:

Target input rate of Compacted Coal: 25/min. 25 * 24 / 19 = 31.5789473.../min

This is the amount the Turbofuel Refinery needs to process in order to be run in a stable loop.

The Rocket Fuel Refinery will need to make 31.5789473 - 25 = 6.57894.../min Compacted Coal.

Turbo Heavy Fuel

If the target Rocket Fuel amount is known, the process is the same as before, but instead the factor is now 5/6.

If the target supply rate of Compacted Coal is known, multiply it by 6/5 instead.
