Ionized Fuel

Ionized Fuel is a late-game gas. It can be burned in Fuel-Powered Generators for power or packaged and used as vehicle fuel.

It is the final step of the fuel fluid chain, following  Rocket Fuel. Likewise, it is a gas and therefore lacks head lift requirements.

Tips

• For the purposes of powering Fuel Generators, the Dark-Ion Fuel alternate recipe is a net negative. Because Rocket Fuel is packaged at a 2 to 1 ratio, 240 Packaged Rocket Fuel per minute equates to 480 m³ Rocket Fuel per minute. 480 m³ Rocket Fuel per minute can fuel slightly over 115 generators at 100% clock speed; The standard Ionized Fuel recipe has a 1 to 1 conversion rate, resulting in 480 m³ Ionized Fuel per minute, which fuels 160 generators. Dark-Ion Fuel, meanwhile, creates less than half as much Ionized Fuel, and the resulting 200 m³ Ionized Fuel per minute will only fuel slightly more than 66 generators, providing much less power than simply consuming the Rocket Fuel outright.
• Packaged Ionized Fuel can be used as a fuel for Drones, replacing batteries. Drones fueled by Ionized Fuel have the fastest movement speed available (45 meters per second, tied with Plutonium Fuel Rods) and will last longer than batteries. The increased movement speed accordingly allows for a slightly higher maximum throughput over long distances. When making Ionized Fuel for this purpose, the Dark-Ion Fuel recipe vastly simplifies the production of Ionized Fuel (removing the need for Time Crystals, Quartz Crystals, and the power demands of an additional Quantum Encoder to produce power shards), while also providing a utility sink for excess Dark Matter Crystals; The reduced Ionized Fuel output is balanced out by the low consumption rate as drone fuel.
